News detail RTS emerges best AITEC exhibitor The AITEC UGANDA 2006 exhibition will provide a platform for the country's growing population of ICT users in government and the private sector to asses the latest technologies and the services offered by vendors and service providers.
ICT Minister Ham Mulira (R), ROKO Technical Services Manager, Ms Brigitte Koehler
ROKO technical services display their products at Kampala Sheraton Hotel during the annual AITEC UGANDA exhibition Our products had various Items like Laptops, UPS that they were showcasing but the Radio Communication system grabbed my attention here. This system is ideal for places with no GSM Network and it can cover a radius of 2000Kms and above. The costing for this is USD 3500 per unit and it's the only cost you incur on top of an annual fee of 100,000Ug Shillings (about 50 US Dollars) to Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) for allowing you to use the frequency. UCC is the Telecom Regulator in Uganda. Now the same Radio can be connected to a working station and you are able to send data. The long time saving here is no airtime required. |
